Preparatory training - Peace Support Operations

For the individual officer, a good preparation for service is necessary in order to work in a professional manner and get a positive impression of serving in a mission.

Swedish National Bureau of Investigation through it's Peace support operation unit conducts courses in basic generic training, projects/programme planning and generic training on management level for Peace support operations. Police officers from other countries are invited to attend all three courses as international students.

The courses are directed by the Peace support operation unit and conducted in co-operation with Swedint, the Swedish Armed Forces’ International Training Center. Swedint is located at the Lifeguard garrison in Kungsängen, north of Stockholm.

International Police Officer Course - IPOC
Swedish police officers who will be serving in a mission for the first time have to attend and be approved at a two-week basic generic training International Police Officer Course (IPOC). Also police officers from various countries around the world are welcomed to attend this course.

Further training

The Peace support operation unit at the National Bureau of Investigation also offers further training to police officers with previous peace support mission/CSDP experience. Also for these two courses, the Peace support operation unit invite police officers from various countries around the world.

International Police Developement Course - IPDC

The International Police Developement Course (IPDC) focus on project and programme planning in the area of Security Sector reform.

United Nations Police Commander Course (UNPCC), generic police training on management level for Peacekeeping Operations in order to prepare senior police officers for positions in Integrated Peacekeeping Operations.
