Right of access to SIS data
If you wish to know whether data concerning your person is being processed in the Schengen Information System (SIS), you have the right, according to the Schengen Convention, to contact any Schengen State.
In Sweden, you may contact the Swedish National Police Board. Please send a written request. To prevent abuse, you must prove your identity in an appropriate manner. Any request for information must be made by the person whose data has been stored by letter, fax or e-mail. We will not answer any queries over the telephone.
Please enclose a photocopy of an official identity document that carries your signature (e.g. an ID-card or a passport), or a scanned official identity document if you send the request by e-mail.
Please observe that the right of access to information is not an absolute right. The disclosure of information may be refused if it is not in the public interest to disclose the information and in particular, if a disclosure would jeopardize a criminal investigation or prevent the prosecution of an offender.
